Happy Birthday Jim!

We had family over today to celebrate Jim's birthday. It was a nice gathering with his parents, my parents, Michelle & Laura and us.

We just had cake and coffee to celebrate!

Back to Rocking Horse....

Baby Jimmy got a new "toy" today....

This isn't just an ordinary rocking horse. This horse was given to Jim when he was a baby by his maternal Grandma. So, that means this horse is 40 years old! It looks great doesn't it! It is definitely a gift we will cherish!

Gyminee Cricket!

Emily had her first "gymnastics" class today. It was really more of a tumbling and play class but she had so much fun.

There was a huge mat, a single person trampoline, a balance beam, a slide, a tunnel and a small bar that they could swing from.

Emily had so much fun moving through all of the stations and she did really well on the balance beam...all by herself!

He's a climber!

I noticed Jimmy climbing up on the couch...all by himself! Once he got up there, he was so proud! Although, as you can tell from the 2nd picture, he looked so little all by himself!

I finally had enough with Jimmy's hair in his face, so I took on the challenge to cut his hair. Well, he didn't want to sit still, so it isn't very even! But he looks better without all the hair in his face! I left the back alone because the curls are still so cute!

Snow Day!

We got some snow overnight, so Jim took Emily outside while he was to shoveling. She loves playing in the snow! It was too cold to go outside and I had a really, really bad sinus infection, so I stayed inside with Jimmy.

Sleeping like a......

Jimmy actually put himself down for a nap! We came into the living room to find him with his head on a pillow, covered with a blanket. Too cute!

Over the river and through the woods....

This morning Jim dropped Nita off at the kennel and we made our trip into Long Island to visit with Jodi & Jim's Grandma. Surprisingly, we made pretty good time...we even had no traffic on the Cross Bronx Parking Lot....until I couldn't read my own directions! Luckily, we figured it out pretty quickly.

We went to Jodi's first and everyone was already there....Jim's parents, Michelle, Laura & Amanda. We exchanged Christmas gifts and got to see Jocelyn! She is such a beautiful baby.

We stayed at Jodi's for a bit and then went to vist Jim's Grandma. They live 2 miles away from eachother.

We got to Grandma's and immediately went to Red Lobster. We all had a great meal...until Grandma started to not feel well. This ended up in a race back to her house...in rush hour traffic.

While we were trying to get Grandma out of the restaurant, we brought the girls up to see the lobsters. One wonderful server actually took one out and let the girls touch it and see it. It was a really nice gesture.

Once we got back to Grandma's...we tried to talk her into going to the hospital, but she refused. So after about 2 hours, we all (Jim's parents, Michelle, Laura, Jim, the kids & I) went back to the hotel.

We went to go for a swim in the pool. All of a sudden, Emily loved the water! She hated it last time we were in a pool. It was Jimmy's first time in a pool. He cried for a little bit, but then he settled into the water and did pretty good.

Then it happened......

The front desk girl came into the pool area with a note for Jim's dad. Grandma wanted to go to the hospital. Unfortunately, it was late at night, icy and we were all tired. Plus, if it was a virus, we didn't want the kids to catch it. We kept getting updates on tests she was having done and we found out it wasn't a virus. We decided that we would take a trip to the hospital in the morning before we left.

We all settled in for bed. Thankfully, we had an adjoining room with Michelle & Laura. Why? Well, Jimmy picked this moment to start crying, screaming, wailing, etc... No matter what we did, we couldn't calm him. Michelle ran to her car for some Tylenol. Jim finally went out for some Mylicon drops....and got a little lost! Finally, Michelle was able to get him to sleep. I took him from her so she could get to bed and when Jim came back we put him in the pack-n-play.

We got up in the morning, had breakfast and headed out to the hospital. It was nice to see Grandma before we left.

Overall it was a pretty eventful trip!

The Gingerbread House

We promised Emily that we would do her Gingerbread House when we got home from my parents house.

Emily had so much fun decorating the house and she didn't do a bad job! I, on the other hand, had some real problems with the royal icing! That is why half the Gingerbread house isn't decorated...I actually ran out of icing! Oh well, I'll do better next year!

Christmas....Round 2

We took Emily & Jimmy down to my parents house today to see their Christmas tree. Emily was excited because Santa had left some gifts for her there too!

Jimmy....was excited with the tree! The poor tree didn't look the same when we left as it did when we came in! Jimmy ripped off some lights, some ornaments and some ribbon. He had a ball, while I spent my time trying to clear the debris!

We had an exciting New Years Eve....

Okay, seriously, we watched a movie until 11:58. Turned on Dick Clark's Rockin New Years Eve to see the ball drop (Which by the way was a little weird this year) and then turned the movie back on.

It was pretty uneventful...except for the person who kept shooting off fireworks.

Emily drew a pretty good mouse on her DoodlePro. So we had to take a picture of it.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas!

Emily woke up, excited to see if Santa came. And he did! She had so much fun opening up all her gifts...especially her prized Cinderella game that she repeatedly asked Santa for!

Jimmy...well, we had to wake him up to open his gifts. Which he just didn't want to do! He was more interested in eating the wrapping paper!

Then, in the afternoon, Michelle & Laura showed up to open gifts...followed by Jim's parents. We all had a fun afteroon. My parents showed up shortly after and we all sat down for dinner.

Overall, it was a wonderful day! We hope everyone had a very Happy Holiday!!

Snow!!!!

We woke up to a blanket of snow! Emily couldn't wait to get outside to play in it. We reminded her that she HATED the snow, but she was convinced that she wanted to play in it.

So, we dressed her up and out she went... She loved it!

Jimmy decided to stay in the nice warm house with Mommy!

Santa...Take 2!

Michelle & Laura invited us all up to visit with Santa at the Clubhouse. We got up there early so the girls could play a bit and then headed out to the Party!

It was wonderful!! We all had so much fun! We sang Christmas Carols, made ornaments, got face painted and best of all...a visit with Santa! Emily and Laura did great with Santa. Jimmy...not so much!

Maybe next year.......
