Jim, Emily, Jimmy & I headed up to Pennsylvania for Laura's 3rd Birthday Party! I can't believe our babies are 3!!!
Laura was born 7 weeks before Emily, so they are super close in age and its nice that they'll grow up that way.

No More Tears?!

Okay, so as a kid I had an irrational fear of blood work. I was okay with needles and shots, but anything going into a vein was enough to send me running.

I had my 1st blood draw done at 15. My Doctor thought I had mono….he was right. Anyway, I was crying before the phlebotomist even put the needle in.

The point of this post….

I was reading my new issue of Parents magazine and I came across this advertisement….

http://www.saveyourtears.com

This thing is really neat! It actually “shows” where the veins are, so you don’t get multiple sticks because they can’t find a vein.

Though this website you can find where the nearest one is to your area. You can request that your hospital get this equipment.

I think this would help with a lot of blood draw fears.

And Jimmy came tumbling after...

We went with my parents to LBI to try to find a house to rent for vacation. We didn't succeed in finding anything, so we went for lunch and went home.

When we went to take Emily out of her carseat, Jim thought she either 1. spilled her drink or 2. peed through the carseat. Either way, we decided to bring it in and wash it.

I fed Jimmy as soon as we got home and I was holding him for a bit....okay he fell asleep on me so it was a couple of hours. Jim and Emily are hungry so Jim starts making dinner for them. I decide to "try" and take apart the carseat to wash it. Anyone who has ever tried to take a carseat apart should find some humor in this.

Jim asks me if I strap Jimmy in when I put him in his carrier. I said, "No"....but what I should've said was..."I don't put him in the carrier". I then went into the bedroom. You see where this is going right?

All of a sudden I hear it.......................THUD!

Both of us are running, Jim gets to him first. Jimmy decided to see if he could practice some rolling and tipped the carrier, with himself in it, OFF of our dining room table. Both Jimmy & the carrier land on the floor.

Jimmy is of course screaming, but so is Jim. I am now wrestling Jim for the baby to check him out. He seemed okay, but I gave him Tylenol.

About a half hour later, he still doesn't have bumps or bruises....but he hasn't stopped crying. Now, those who have met him, know that he doesn't cry for no reason.

Jim & I want to have him checked out so we decide to head to the emergency room. Well, remember the carseat! So at 8:00pm, Jim has to get the other carseat from my car and install it in the Explorer to go to the ER. Yes, in the dark!

We finally get to the ER. Jimmy has stopped crying and is now flirting (Yes, flirting!) with the two nurses and the doctor. Go figure! They said all his vitals looked great, so no CAT scan was needed.

We bundled him back up and headed home. What a day!

Oh yeah, the reason Jimmy wouldn't stop crying was because he was hungry! Jim & I didn't realize this until we got home from the hospital.

As a side note: my hospital has a pediatric ER. Its really neat! It is much less scary than the real sterile looking ER. It has been open for about 7 years. Surprisingly, we've never been there.

Tigger at Pizza Hut

Today we went back up to Michelle & Laura's. Tigger was going to be at Pizza Hut and Emily wanted to meet him! She is doing much better with the characters. She will now go up to them and hug them.

We have a roller!

Okay, so Jimmy was fussing around in the Pack n Play. I went in there to make sure he was okay and this is what I find!

He managed to roll from his back to his front. Ironically, the pediatrician said that this is the hard way for them to roll! He's also trying to lift up on his knees. I think we're in trouble!

Baby Jimmy's 4 Month Check Up

Well everything went well and our "little" guy is growing...rapidly! He is now 15lbs 4oz and 26 inches long.* He is up 5lbs 5oz. and 6 inches from birth!

Since he is sleeping through the night (and has been since 5 days old), we decided against starting cereal at this time. If he starts indicating that he is still hungry, then we will reconsider.

He did get 5 vaccinations, 4 shots and 1 oral. He did pretty good, only cried a little and seems to have no reactions to them.

Next doctor's appointment is at 6 months.

*At Emily's 4 month appointment she was 14.7lbs and 24 inches.
