Where did 6 months go?!

You should see the other guy!

We got to Michelle's around 11:00am and the girls played for a while. Then, we went to the clubhouse and had a wonderful BBQ meal! They had everything...burgers, hot dogs, Black Angus steaks, spare ribs, fried chicken, corn on the cob, potato salad and cole slaw! Yummy!

We then decided to go to the lake so Jim could fish for a little bit and the girls could play in the sand. Yes, I know Emily *HATES* the sand. (See LBI journals in July last year!) Well, once Emily saw Laura in the sand, the shoes came off and the toys came out! She loved it! Hopefully, this will continue when we go to LBI this year!

After the lake, we went back to Michelle's for a snack and some play time. Well, that's when it happened. Emily found the one part of the driveway that did not have a "ramp" into the garage and tipped the little ride-on car over.

Face first.
Into the concrete.
And split her lip.
There were blood and a lot of tears. Jim finally got her fixed up and she went back to playing.
Even with the lip, we all had a wonderful day!

Emily meets Eeyore!
The Pizza Hut up near Michelle always has a new character every month. Well, this month it was Eeyore! Emily just loves Winnie the Pooh and we already met Tigger, so we figured we had to go for Eeyore!

A long day...
Today, we head out to cousin Meghan's Communion in Queens. My Dad says there is a Yankee game so there will be a delay on the George Washington Bridge. We leave at 12:00 Noon, knowing that we will be a little late to the 1:00 party.
On the way there we are listening to 1010 Wins for traffic and we hear the dreaded news...its not JUST a Yankee game its a Subway Series. For those that don't follow baseball, the Subway Series is a game between the New York Yankees and the New York Mets....the crosstown rivals!
Jim & I look at eachother and groan. We know there is *no* way we are even going to arrive at the party for a while. I call my parents who are already on the Bridge and it took them a half hour to get there. We tell them that we will be taking the lower level since it is a shorter wait and we estimate to be about 40 minutes behind them.
Okay, so we're driving and Jim sees a lot of cars cutting over to the right hand lanes and the left lanes are empty. So....he stays to the left. I ask him what he's doing since the lower level is to the right! He says its okay, there is a crossover. I inform him that there is NO crossover going from the upper to the lower, just the lower to the upper. We travel for a little bit longer and come to a DEAD STOP!
We crept along very slowly for the remainder of the journey. Hitting traffic on the Cross Bronx "Parking Lot", the Throgs Neck Bridge AND the Cross Island Parkway. We could not just get a break!
We finally arrived at the party at 2:30. So it took us about 2.5 hours to do a trip that takes about 1.5 hours. We did have a wonderful time at the party and it was great to see everyone!

ER Visit...Take 2

So, Emily was playing with the dog. Then all of a sudden she got quiet. She came into Jim and I with a look on her face and her hand outstretched..palm up. All she said was..."Yucky". At this Jim and I both looked at her hand and....she got a hold of my bottle of aspirin.
Jim & I both flew into high gear and headed to the ER...again. Funny enough, we were put in the same room that we had with Jimmy last month. We couldn't be sure that she actually ingested any, but we had them run blood work to make sure.
The nurses kept commenting on what good children we had, because you would hardly know that they were even there. And this was in a pediatric ER.
It was about an hour before the blood work came back and she was perfectly fine. She ingested no aspirin what so ever!
We are so thankful that everything was okay!

Happy Mother's Day!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!
We spent the day at Michelle's with my parents and Jim's mom. We all had a wonderful time, got wonderful gifts and had some excellent food!
Of course, Emily loved spending the day with Laura and Aunt "Chelle". Emily literally worships Michelle which is just wonderful! And Michelle is such a wonderful Aunt to Emily & Jimmy! They are very lucky to have her in their lives.
A little about the extraordinary women in my life.....
My Sister in Law Michelle is one of the strongest women I know. I definitely look up to her. She is a wonderful friend, aunt and sister. We've had some rocky roads, but thankfully we've been able to put that in the past and work on our relationship. I don't look at her as just my sister in law anymore I truly look at her as a friend.
My Mother in Law is a really wonderful woman. She is always going out of her way to help in what ever way she can. Its the little things she does that just make you feel special. Also, thank you for raising such a wonderful son!
My Mom is just the best! She always knows what to say to make a situation better. She's just one of those extra special people. She knows how to make me laugh...and how sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself! I love her to pieces! Thanks Mom...for everything!
I just love being a part of a family with these wonderful, exceptional women. Just being around them makes me a better person. I love you all!
Now, my reason for Mother's Day. My two beautiful children and with that I have to thank my wonderful husband! He is my rock, my love, my best friend and my everything.
So, on Mother's Day I want to thank him for giving me the two greatest gifts in my life. I love you! ~ PB

Jimmy and the Jumperoo!
We decided to finally put Jimmy in the Jumperoo. We remembered how much Emily loved it. Seriously, when we got close to it, her little legs would start kicking!
Jimmy seems to love it just as much as Emily did. The only problem...now Emily decides SHE wants back in it. We keep having to deter her from it and when Jimmy's in it, she's right there with him!
This is what happens when you leave him alone for 5 minutes in the Jumperoo!
